How to Play Adventure Star Tank: A Guide to Adventure Star Tank Gameplay

This guide will cover how to play the tank heroes in Adventure Star. Tanks in the game often have high damage absorption and strong control capabilities. To play them well, not only do you need to choose the right heroes to develop, but also learn to clarify the lineup strategy needed to build them in actual combat. Currently, there are two powerful mythic-level tank heroes in the game that can be built.

The first mythic tank hero is Ayane. She is a physical tank capable of summoning units. Her synthesis path is Shadow + Mech Dog + Thorn, where Shadow is an elite hero, relatively easier to draw. In actual combat, multiple Shadows can be used to build up the backline firepower for your team. Shadow itself is a marksman, with every fourth attack causing extra damage, which is more than enough to handle the early stage monsters in the levels, and it doesn't cost much to develop. If you have resources, you can upgrade it to stabilize the early blood volume.

Mech Dog and Thorn are much rarer to draw, usually summoned through cards dropped in levels. Given you already have Shadow, it's recommended to summon Thorn first. Thorn is a front-line tank with built-in control skills, which can help limit the opponent's output, and its AOE damage is quite good, sometimes able to clear out low-health enemies in corners with the aftermath of its skill.

As for Mech Dog, it can just be left on the field as a hanger-on before synthesis. Although its bomb and penetration damage from its skill are not low, they require a high amount of attack power to enhance. Therefore, when you get both Mech Dog and Thorn's cards, you don't need to prioritize choosing it.

Gems are also very important for Ayane. Her full set includes one legendary gem and two mythic gems. The legendary gem allows Ayane to increase 15% attack and health for two allies, and this buff lasts until the end of the current level. Even if she comes out in the mid to late game, it's still worth it, because enhancing mid to late-game rare or legendary teammates actually increases the value significantly.

The two mythic gems can boost Ayane's damage reduction and attack speed. Although Ayane is a tank, she lacks healing and damage reduction abilities, so she heavily relies on the damage reduction provided by the gem. As for attack speed, although a single ally can only increase her speed by 3%, Ayane's inherent skill can summon a large number of zombies, which can also be considered allied units. Therefore, in actual combat, if equipped with this mythic gem that boosts attack speed, the increase in attack speed will be far greater than expected.

The second mythic tank hero is Lumi. This tank playstyle heavily relies on Bionic Device Y. The synthesis path requires two Bionic Device Ys and one Mech Dog. Although Mech Dog is of higher quality in the synthesis path, Bionic Device Y is also of decent quality, and it's not easy to draw a rare-quality hero with silver coins in the early stages. Therefore, you can use its lower-quality versions, such as Bionic Device Alpha and Beta, as a transition.

Bionic Device Y should also be appropriately developed on a daily basis, at least to level 5 to unlock its stun ability. Further upgrading it is also beneficial, as the increased attack power can significantly boost its skill damage.

For card selection in levels, focus entirely on finding Mech Dog. Most of the required legendary heroes need to be summoned from cards, and the only legendary hero used in this set is Mech Dog.

When playing Lumi, it's important to understand its role. It is a protective tank, mainly benefiting the team through healing and taking damage. It lacks offensive abilities, so it must be paired with other damage-dealing heroes. The Mech Dog and Bionic Device Y in the synthesis path can help with the team's output to some extent, but it's best to add a mythic-level marksman or mage, as Lumi can only take damage for mythic units behind it.

In terms of gems, Lumi has three exclusive gems that provide significant boosts, including maximum health recovery when at low health, additional damage reduction, and extra healing. These can further enhance Lumi's durability and protection for teammates. However, to maximize the benefits, you should choose equipment with more health points when equipping Lumi, so that the combination with the gems achieves the greatest effect.
