Now, the battleship is a game with a naval warfare theme, featuring various types of ships. Among them, the battleship is known for its outstanding firepower. However, although it has strong firepower, its mobility is average, and it requires a high level of skill, often needing to estimate lead. Below, we will bring you the modern warship battleship rankings and provide some recommendations for new players. Although most of the time, it is not recommended for newcomers to play battleships, considering that many people are specifically interested in battleships, we still make some recommendations.

Modern Battleship Rankings and Recommendations for Beginners

Tier 0

The Richelieu, as the first French battleship introduced in Modern Warships, is hailed as the pinnacle of battleships. Although the Bourgogne and Patrie are more favored by some players, the Richelieu, with its excellent weapon layout and powerful combat capability, firmly holds its place at the top. It can unleash all its weapons' firepower through the "mountain hugging" tactic, equipped with two sets of four rocket launchers, making enemy submarines suffer in anti-submarine warfare. Its engine performance is absurdly good, and combined with a series of powerful passive skills, it makes its anti-aircraft capabilities extremely terrifying.

When paired with dual flamethrowers, a single round of attack can deal over 270,000 direct damage, and in close combat, it can even win against all other battleships through a blood exchange mechanism, at worst ending in a draw. Although long-range flamethrower attacks may not deal full damage, and it might be at a slight disadvantage when facing high-burst ships like Shield Goose, Huacheng, and Dahan, as one of the few battleships capable of mountain hugging, even with slightly weaker health, its overall strength remains impressive.

Tier 0.5

Aegis, Yamato, and Huacheng battleships. Aegis and Yamato, as veteran package battleships in Modern Warships, have experienced roller-coaster-like ups and downs in their power. From initially being overpowered, to once becoming a "clown," and then making a strong comeback, it's somewhat inspiring. Aegis has astonishing direct damage burst, and when paired with flamethrowers without using missiles, a single round of attack can deal 280,000 direct damage, instantly vaporizing a large portion of an ordinary ship's health. Although its anti-submarine capability is average, it becomes quite usable after equipping dual 2500 rocket launchers. However, its mobility is poor, with a maximum speed of only 16 knots and a reverse speed of 8 knots, making battlefield maneuvering somewhat clumsy, but its overall performance is still impressive.

In comparison, the Huacheng has had a smoother journey. As a beloved ship among players, it was overpowered upon its debut, drawing significant attention. Despite subsequent nerfs, its strength remains considerable. The Huacheng outperforms Aegis in terms of direct damage, anti-submarine, speed, and health, but it also has a larger hit area, leading to slightly lower actual damage in combat. Due to the lack of missile weapons, it struggles to deal damage against mountain-hugging enemies, which is a key reason why it is ranked alongside Aegis in Tier 0.5.

Tier 1

Montana, Admiral Isakov. Montana boasts excellent health, anti-aircraft, and decent firepower, with a main and secondary battery salvo capable of dealing over 230,000 direct damage, demonstrating strong burst potential. However, its weaknesses are equally apparent: it only has two torpedoes for anti-submarine, which is a fatal flaw for such a large and cumbersome ship, especially without the support of rocket launchers. More critically, its mobility is extremely poor, with a maximum speed of only 15 knots, making it difficult to quickly enter attack positions or evade submarine torpedo threats. Additionally, its traditional forward and aft main gun layout makes it challenging for Montana to leverage the mountain hugging tactic, as it must expose most of its hull to complete a salvo. Despite its impressive damage, considering the overall game environment, Montana can only be placed in Tier 1.

Admiral Isakov, on the other hand, is an extremely versatile ship, fully equipped with weapons and capable of reaching a maximum speed of 20 knots, providing an experience more akin to a heavy cruiser. As the first battleship in Modern Warships to use missiles as its primary weapon, Isakov, with its high-speed navigation, powerful anti-aircraft, and excellent anti-submarine capabilities, can handle a variety of battlefield situations. However, the high proportion of missiles is a double-edged sword, making Isakov weak against thermal decoys and electronic countermeasures, unable to overpower enemies with pure direct damage like other battleships. For this reason, it is placed alongside Montana in Tier 1.

Tier 2

Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Teton. Massachusetts was once the graduation ship for many players and a dream ship for beginners. Its performance is relatively mediocre, with no standout features, but it is well-balanced overall. With proper operation and pairing with X51 or laser-guided weapons, it can still deliver stable output on the battlefield.

New Hampshire, although equipped with two helicopters, can achieve similar effects with other ships carrying Fenghong drones in actual combat. Its overall performance is similar to Isakov, but its anti-submarine and anti-aircraft capabilities are slightly inferior, placing it in the Tier 2 category.

Teton, as a lock-on missile type ship, suffers from severe "thermal decoy" issues with its main weapon, M3. Although it has stealth capabilities, they are not very meaningful for a battleship. Its anti-aircraft capability is weak, and although its anti-submarine capability is decent, its damage almost entirely relies on main gun output, causing Teton's overall strength to drop to Tier 2.

The above is the current ranking of modern warship battleships. Of course, this is for newcomers, as seasoned players often have their own special skills and their own understanding of battleship strength.
